Vice President, Acquisition Strategy – Home Equity Financing

In March of 2016, John started his current role as VP of Home Equity Acquisition for RBC which is Canada’s largest home equity lender. Prior to his current role, John was VP, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for Personal and Commercial Banking at RBC where his focus was on growing the depth of our customer relationships through relevant and integrated omni-channel interactions. John joined RBC in September of 2013.  

Prior to RBC, John worked at Capital One for 12 years establishing and growing the Canadian Credit Card business. John’s roles included Vice-President of Partnerships and Customer Management and Vice-President of Customer Acquisition. He also led the Canadian strategy team from 2005 to 20013. John’s expertise includes Product Management, Marketing Strategy, Credit Risk, and Analytics. John obtained his MBA in Marketing & E-Commerce from Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) and his HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (The University of Western Ontario). He has also worked for Bain & Company, Rogers, and Bell Canada.

John has been an active member of employee and student LGBT organizations for over 15 years.  He currently serves as Executive Co-Sponsor for RBC’s GTA PRIDE Employee Resource Group, and he previously served as the Executive Sponsor for Capital One’s American and Canadian LGBT Employee Network.  John and his partner Mike are the fathers of a toddler named Roman.
