About the Role:

The Expert Director of IT / Data / Digital Operations reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Internal Operations and oversees all digital, IT, and data management functions within Start Proud. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for managing the organization’s digital infrastructure, optimizing data systems, and ensuring that technology supports operational efficiency.

You will work closely with initiative leads to ensure that IT, data, and digital solutions are seamlessly integrated into major events such as Out On Bay Street (OOBS), Leaders to be Proud Of, and Workshops. Additionally, you will collaborate with external partners and vendors to maintain and enhance the organization's digital platforms, ensuring that data security and operational integrity are upheld at all times.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee IT and Digital Infrastructure: Manage all IT systems and digital platforms, ensuring that they support Start Proud’s initiatives and day-to-day operations. This includes overseeing website functionality, digital tools, and data management systems.
  • Ensure Data Security and Integrity: Develop and implement best practices for data security, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards. You will also manage data storage and access protocols to protect sensitive organizational and member information.
  • Optimize Digital Operations: Identify and implement digital tools and technologies that improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with initiative teams to ensure technology supports their needs for events, programs, and communications.
  • Collaborate on Digital Event Solutions: Work closely with initiatives like Out On Bay Street (OOBS), Leaders to be Proud Of, and Workshops to provide seamless digital integration for virtual or hybrid events. Ensure all digital tools enhance the participant experience and streamline event operations.
  • Manage External Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with external IT service providers and vendors to maintain and improve the organization’s digital capabilities. This includes managing contracts, overseeing platform updates, and ensuring system reliability.
  • Lead Digital Transformation Projects: Drive digital innovation within Start Proud by leading key transformation initiatives. Ensure that the organization's digital strategy is aligned with its mission and operational goals.
  • Support Data-Driven Decision-Making: Provide data analysis and reporting to support the organization’s strategic decisions. Ensure that data management systems are robust and can deliver insights to help guide program development and organizational growth.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • IT and Digital Operations Expertise: Proven experience in managing IT systems, digital platforms, and data infrastructure. Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, cybersecurity practices, and data management systems.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams. Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, from initiative leads to external vendors.
  • Data Management and Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of data security protocols, compliance standards, and best practices for safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Digital Event Support: Experience providing digital solutions for virtual or hybrid events, ensuring seamless integration and user-friendly experiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute a digital strategy that aligns with organizational goals and supports long-term growth.

Commitment

  • ~5-10 hours per month
  • Mandatory attendance at team team meetings
